The Aqualizer™ and AquaMaster™

Working together, and using the electrochemical activation of water and ordinary salt, the Aqualizer™ and AquaMaster™ eradicate pathogens, viruses, bacteria, and fungi.

Water to be treated is fed through the Aqualizer, activating an electrostaticly-charged polarization. The polarized water is then mixed with salt and sent through the AquaMaster, an Electro-Dialysis Reversal (EDR) membrane, for processing. The EDR process reduces the four well-known, high-performance oxidants – Hydrogen, Peroxide, Free Chlorine, and Oxygen – to their original radical form. Where conventional sterilization procedures generally work with only one of these active substances, the AquaMaster makes it possible to unite all four oxidants into an electrolyzed water.

Electrolyzed water provides a powerful, eco-friendly, less expensive alternative to conventional disinfectants, sanitizers, cleaners and degreasers. The biocides found in electrolyzed water destroy pathogens including Salmonella, Legionella Pneumophila, (Legionnaire’s disease), E-Coli, Polio virus, and Staphylococcus (a common cause of food poisoning). Testing also indicates a high effectiveness in killing Anthrax.

By using the same methodology with different membranes and feeding system technologies, the AquaMaster can also be used as a desalination method appropriate for small municipalities, businesses, motor homes, boats, and other applications.

When I was in the Peace Corps in South Africa, we were advised to boil our water. You can boil it, let it cool, and then carry it in a Nalgene bottle, which eliminates the need to buy bottled water. Boiling is more more effective at killing bacteria and viruses. If I’m not mistaken, most filters cannot filter out small bacterium such as Vibreo cholera and other nasty bugs.

Hello! I am leaving in a little more than a month for West Africa. I will be spending the majority of my time in Mali and will be in the area for some time (4-6 months). I am looking at water filters to stop the useless waste of plastic water bottles and was wondering a couple things. First, what are the risks in the water supplies in Africa? Bacteria, Virus, Sediment?!? What would be a good filter? Do I need something that will kill viruses in the water?

I imagine there’ll be some interest for it as a wilderness survival tool. It basically sounds like a pocket-sized filter cartridge, similar to what those pitchers with water filters have.

The only thing I’m skeptical about is that it would have a full year of life. That would also likely depend on how contaminated the water is and what’s getting trapped in the filter. I wonder if it’s been tested under “field” conditions? I’d suspect that you wouldn’t get more than a month’s use, if that.
